 ★Speak for the Horticulture Program

Through the collaborative training program offered by South China Agricultural University and University College Dublin, students have gained a transformative learning and living experience. At South China Agricultural University, well-equipped laboratories and orchards with abundant fruit trees cater to the practical needs of horticultural students. Guided by experimental courses and dedicated teachers, we are able to delve deeper into the intricacies of plant science and savor the fruits of our own labor. University College Dublin further elevates our academic prowess through theoretical foundations and expanded horizons. Teachers from University College Dublin personally come to our school to impart knowledge. Each semester offers various activities that provide an Irish cultural immersion, allowing us to experience studying abroad without leaving home. This dual educational background not only significantly enhanced my academic proficiency and English language skills but also laid a solid foundation for my successful applications to prestigious overseas universities for postgraduate studies. Ultimately, I received admission offers from Wageningen University, Swedish Agricultural University, University of Copenhagen, and University of Helsinki during the application season.

I have several suggestions for younger students applying to the Horticulture (Sino-foreign cooperative program). Firstly, it is important to have a comprehensive understanding of horticulture, which may differ from traditional gardening. This major requires a combination of theoretical and practical study, as well as the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in hands-on practice. Secondly, studying horticulture demands a passion for plants and the resilience to endure solitude in fields and laboratories. We eagerly anticipate your application for the Horticulture program and embarking on this journey of exploring the world of plants with us!
