主要研究方向为动物营养调控、肠道健康与动物福利。先后主持973项目课题1项、863课题1项;主持国家自然科学基金重大项目课题、倾斜项目、联合基金、面上项目等8项,主持其他国家级与省部级项目10余项。发表论文160篇,其中SCI论文60篇,主编参编著作、教材、译著10部;获国家科技进步二等奖1项,省级教学成果一等奖4项,省级科技成果奖2项,厅局级3项,获发明专利授权4项。先后培养博士研究生30名,硕士研究生100名。

1994年毕业于中国农业大学动物生理生化专业,获博士学位;
2002-2003年赴法国国立医学研究所做博士后研究。
