  长期致力于病原微生物研究,被认为是微生物群体感应领域的奠基者之一、群体淬灭防治微生物病害新理论的创建者。归国前任新加坡国立大学分子与细胞生物学院副教授、教授十余年;2012年回国后创建 群体微生物研究中心并担任主任;国务院学位委员会第七届植物保护学科评议组成员,入选国家杰出青年科学基金(海外)、国家重点人才工程等;曾获澳大利亚“博士后研究员奖”、新加坡“国家科学奖”等奖励。近五年先后主持国家973项目、广东省农业厅重大培育项目 、广东省重点领域研发计划等项目;担任广东省微生物学会副理事长,及多种国际刊物编委。近五年发表SCI论文60余篇,成果获F1000及刊物热点推荐。
