1. Aquatic animal nutrition and feed research directions
In view of the shortage of fish meal and fish oil in aquaculture in the world, the basic theory and application technology of replacing fish oil and fish meal with vegetable oil and vegetable protein were studied, and the high-efficiency and low-cost environmental protection compound feed was developed. It has been used in lipid nutrition of marine fish and digestion of marine fish. A series of innovative achievements have been made in utilization, mechanism and low value of macroalgae, feed utilization technology of residual algae resources, woody plant feed utilization, development of new protein sources and functional additives, especially in the study of the characteristics and regulation mechanism of synthesis and metabolism of high unsaturated fatty acids. Direction and related research achievements are at the forefront of the world.
2. aquatic disease prevention and control and disease breeding research direction
Studies on the prevention and control of aquatic diseases and aquaculture mainly focus on the epidemiological investigation of pathogens including bacteria, viruses and parasites, isolation and identification of pathogens, pathogenic mechanisms and disease immune control techniques of important cultured fishes in South China. A series of innovative achievements have been made in the field of immunization and control technology, and the research results are at the international advanced level.
3. Research direction of aquaculture breeding and seed industry
The aquatic products breeding and seed industry platform of Oceanographic College mainly focuses on grouper, hybrid eel, improved crucian carp, long buttock, yellow catfish, martensite Pearl oyster, Penguin Pearl oyster, etc. It covers genetic breeding and reproduction technology, germplasm resources and seedling engineering, aquatic product quality and safety and healthy breeding technology. More than 50 papers on SCI have been published and 5 invention patents have been obtained. At present, polyploid induction, hybrid breeding, gene editing and other techniques are mainly used in this group to explore its excellent economic characters for breeding, and to develop bioactive substances to provide technical support for improving the quality and efficiency of aquatic products and ensuring the quality and safety of aquatic products. There are 10 team members, including 3 professors, 1 associate professors and 6 lecturers.
4. The direction of marine biological resources and ecological environment
The research fields of marine biological resources and ecological environment platform mainly focus on marine pollution and control, marine environmental regulation and ecological restoration, marine resources assessment and utilization, and physical adsorption and chemical catalysis, plant enrichment and metabolic mechanism research, micro-research around the construction of ecological function of islands and reefs, water environment restoration research. Biodegradation and metabolic mechanism. In recent years, a series of achievements have been made in the study of environmental regulation of fishery breeding, proliferation of marine living resources and restoration of fishery resources, marine ecological protection, theory and technology of environmental restoration engineering, and evaluation and protection of diversity of aquatic economic animals.
