Jiang Shigui

Personal profile:

       Jiang Shigui, born in April 1964, Ph.D., second-level researcher, doctoral tutor, is currently the director of the South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, the winner of the May 1st Labor Medal of Guangdong Province, the State Council special allowance expert, the national shrimp Experts in genetic and breeding positions in industrial technology systems, national-level candidates for the “New Century Talents Project”, national agricultural scientific research outstanding talents and their innovative team leaders. A number of achievements and patented technologies have been obtained in the tropical aquatic germplasm resources, the whole artificial breeding of P. monodon and genetic breeding, and a new variety of Nanhai No. 1 and several new strains have been cultivated. He has presided over more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial-level projects, and won 16 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological achievements awards, including 3 provincial and ministerial first prizes. Received 5 national invention patents. Since becoming a researcher, he has published more than 150 academic papers by the first author or correspondent author, including 50 papers in SCI; 2 editorial monographs and 4 editors. More than 50 doctoral and master students have been trained.

Awards, honorary titles:

   1. Research on genetic breeding of Penaeus monodon and the promotion and application of new varieties. In 2016, it won the first prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Award, the first person to complete. 
    2. The construction and sharing of the germplasm resources of the South China Sea Aquatic Resources. In 2012, it won the first prize of the Hainan Provincial Science and Technology Award, the first person to complete. 
    3. The germplasm resources and utilization of the carp family, won the second prize of the Guangdong Science and Technology Award in 2010, the first person to complete. 
    4. Research on artificial breeding technology of Penaeus monodon, and won the first prize of Hainan Science and Technology Award in 2009, the first person to complete.    

Research projects:

In the past five years, it has undertaken 21 national and provincial-level projects such as the National 863 Project, the National Natural Science and Technology Condition Platform Project, the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the Shrimp Industrial Technology System Post Scientist, and the Ministry of Agriculture's Major Financial Project. The contractual funds totaled 75.56 million yuan. Mainly attack aquatic germplasm resources and genetic breeding.
