On the afternoon of October 18th, Animal Breeding was taught by Associate Professor Katja Teerds from the College of Animal Science of Wageningen University in the Netherlands and Meng Li, a teacher of our college, in Room 508, Teaching Building 3. The teachers of our college, undergraduate teaching supervisors of South China Agricultural University and relevant staff of Office of Academic Studies attend the class.
In the class, Associate Professor Kafja Teerds elaborated expertise of animal breeding in English with help of the exquisite courseware. He frequently asked the students about the understanding and mastery of the key points in the class, encouraged the students to ask questions and patiently answered them. The teacher, Meng Li, assisted the course teaching in both Chinese and English.
During the class, the undergraduate teaching supervisors communicated with foreign teachers and students respectively. They learned from the perspectives, such as the teaching style of the same specialized course delivered by Chinese and foreign teachers together, difficulties in understanding teaching conducted in English, and the teaching effect. The students all said there is no difficulty in understanding the class in English and they prefer this form of teaching.
This course is jointly funded by Office of Academic Studies and the International Exchange Office. During this semester, four foreign teachers were invited to deliver the courses, which helps students develop professional vision and enhance professional competence.
